Hi

I'm from Australia and it is the norm here not to carry snowsaws, avalanche probes and beacons due to our lower angled terrain and lower snow fall. This may sound like an ignorant question but I was wondering if it is standard to carry this gear when skiing backcountry in areas around Las Lenas in Argentina? If anyone could help me out that would be great.

Everyone who skis Backcountry anywhere really should carry a Transceiver, Shovel and Avalanche Probe as a minimum. If you don't then you are relying on others to carry out rescue, when time is of the utmost importance.
