He's right.....Went to France Feb half term 2007... Nightmare... Not helped by fact snow was very poor., so more people were fighting for less ski area. Was awful, my husband made me swear that we'd never go at that time again. Main problem is crowds at that time of year for me. The price was no more as we did DIY so the hotel would've cost the same at any other peak season week. In my opinion, if you have to go in school holidays, go at Easter. Same area (Grand Massif) excellent in April every time we've been. Good snow, warmer and longer days and less queues. Another thing to consider is that parts of the UK now have fixed spring breaks, others are ruled by when Easter is. So last year as Easter was early lots of schools were going back or into their last week as ours broke up. This was great, we got a great deal on a chalet in the 3 Valleys and it wasn't too busy. Certainly we experienced very few queues. |

No, don't feel guilty.. I sniggered too.
In fact I think I'm a bit sick coz i often do when people fall or hurt themselves. I can't seem to help it...I tell myself it's nerves...I'd hate to think I was just plain cruel... |

On a serious note...that kind of thing happened to my daughter about 3 years ago (she was 9)
It was on one of the old chairs in Les Carroz, with the slatted seats. she was wearing a backpack with those thumb pulls that you tighten the straps with. The plastic thumb pull got caught between the slats and as she went to ski off the chair it twisted and tightened. The chair carried on round and dragged her with it. Very scary, she was screaming and the operator stopped it just as it was about to take off down again. Now comes the amusing bit...I tried to get to her as the operator stopped the lift. As he did so a bar came down and hit me right on top of the head. It was pandemonium for about 30 seconds. Then we ascertained she was ok, apart from a sore wrist. But she never wears that kind of backpack anymore. (in fact she doesn't wear one for skiing) |
