2001 for me, now go for a week with the family & a 5 day trip with Mates, best holidays ever. Always go to a different resort, but always have the same fun. 9 more sleeps to Family holiday, cant wait, my 5 year old first attempt, should be cool.

Went to Zell a few years back. Really enjoyed the skiing, thought there were some really nice runs. For me the apres ski was a bit flat, not in the league regarding liveliness of other Austrian resorts.

Although there is an argument regarding the level of costs, these airlines should remember we holiday makers keep their business going, FULL STOP. Without us there would have zero business, i appreciate we should pay a charge, but not these obscene prices, the fact it works out less per kilo than an excess charge is irrelevant. |

I hear you Pablo i do, we fly from London but hook up with Guys from Manchester. To be honest I am not overly bothered with the amount of money, just think its a bit of a scam, but hey ho that's exactly what it is. At the end of the day the costs are not an issue, getting skiing is all that matters.

You maybe right Pablo, not always possible with destinations & timings though. I would always use a major Airline when poss, however flying to Salzburg or Geneva is not an option.

I for one have never taken the P1ss, however some airlines put in a limit just to make money on excess baggage. Also i fail to see how the excess baggage works, i can weigh 80kg with 25kg luggage & have to pay for the extra 5kg luggage & someone else can weigh 125kg & 20kg luggage & that's fine. I am all for paying extra, however just be fair, £20 each way for say £15kg is ok, but don't take the P1ss out of the people trying to go on holiday.

Its a joke how much some airlines charge, especially a certain Ryanair, I do all i can to avoid flying with them. 6kg, who is that with, no way will the total weight be less that 6kg, Easyjet are 25kg & you can easily take 2 sets.

The Ski Helmet Debate

Hi
For what it is worth on the helmet front i would say this. Last year i had a fairly bad stack, skiing far faster than my ability, eventually crashing the back of my head on some ice. I felt like i had been hit by a sledge hammer, in fact it took me about 10 minutes to come round. all this with a decent helmet on. I shudder to think what would happen if i wasn't wearing that helmet, so for me I would always wear one. In fact a group of 14 of us are off next week, and all now have head protection. |
