Just got back from Sauze and its great over there- snowed every day last week and the runs into the village are all open so you should be in for some good conditions.
Unfortunately the OH and I both got flu (and i mean flu- not just a nasty cold) three days in and missed 3 days on the mountain. Now that I'm over it, I'm realizing how absolutely gutted I am. Don't know the Hotel Le Torre but I'm sure you'll have a great time in Sauze- I'm jealous! |

Anyone flying out this weekend getting worried?

As a southerner I've never taken much notice of reports of snow in the UK but after recent events I must admit that I'm now a bit concerned.
We fly from Gatwick very early on Sunday (19th) morning and considering how useless we seem to be a coping with a few inches of snow I've never been so hopeful to not see any of the white stuff. How ironic would it be if snow delays my skiing holiday? Anyone else want to join my support group? I'm sure that together we can keep ward off these pesky Arctic winds! |

I was in arinsal for xmas last year and it was great. The snow arrived on the night we arrived so I hope you get the same. Hope you're not a fair weather skier though!

Cheers for the advice. To be fair I have been wearing my thick socks so I'll try the thinner ones. I'd love to go and give the boots another go but I haven't got time now - off in 12 days!
Whatever happens my feet will just be glad that they're not being crammed into smelly rental boots! |

I know the whole boot thing has been done to death but I'm off to sauze in under a fortnight and want to make sure my shiney new boots don't kill my feet.
They've been fitted properly but I'm getting a feeling like my feet are being squashed across my toes- from the outside by my little toe(knuckle?). I do have very wide feet (like a hobbit as my OH loves to say) but I have wide boots (atomic b80s)as well. Should I go and get a big old bulge put in them or persevere and hope they pack out? Do they usually give much in this area? Please help- i keep telling myself that boots shouldn't fit perfectly straight from the shop but I want comfortable boots for my holiday. Any words of wisdom? |

13 sleeps for me!! My first time with my own boots as well. And there's loads of snow! Doesn't get much better.

OK. I'm calm now. Webcams are getting whiter and the snow reports are saying there's more on the way this weekend. If they start adjusting them now though I'll not be happy. I've got snow fever in a bad way. Damn those snow teases.

I've tried using map overlays of piste maps but getting the perspective right was pretty much impossible. Seeing a piste map on 3D terrain is fantastic- especially if you `fly` down the runs. I'll definitely be checking this out when I get home- saved me a lot of work!
