Hi,
In terms of beer prices in Arc 1800 it was 5€ a pint(£4.50) in January, ouch. However, I went to the bars straight from the slopes, it's happy hour in a couple of them from 4-6pm when it's 4€ a pint or £2.70 which is what I pay at home. A few glasses of red wine with the meal in the apartment and I was quite content for the evening. |

Mark,
Caron-a is right, the restaurant L'Equipage ("the team") is good. The Red Hot Saloon bar is also good in the same village (Villards). Try the next village along the other side of the slopes for Chez Boubou. There's quite a few bars in all and two nightclubs. To be honest you're going to too shattered for a great deal of apres if you the ski area all day. |

Hi,
Went to the Tignes glacier last summer for the experience. When we arrived first thing it was really icy and I wasn't looking forward to the rest of the day but after an hour or so the ice melted and we had pretty good snow. I enjoyed the "day" and it's worth going but it costs around 30€ so wouldn't go back. There's quite a few runs so it's better than a Snowdome. Found the underground funicular train a bit claustrophobic. |

Hi,
Jon's right as always. I've driven to the 3 valleys twice from Les Arcs, less than an hour by car. I went to Courchevel 1300 via Moutiers, free parking then gondola to 1850/ 3 Valleys. Val D-Isere/ Tignes (Espace Killy) is a little closer. Take your Paradiski pass to any ticket office in Les Arcs and ask for a day pass to 3 Valleys/ Espace Killy and they'll give you one for free. |

No probs,
I'll try and help if you have any other French issues/ need help with the Paradiski area. Bon ski! |

Pasta, risotto, fried meat and potato based dishes are great. The local dishes include loads of cheese. If you're in the least interested I have a great "reciepe" for tartiflette I will share, I manage to cook everything on a hob......
Take the J27 of the N90 on the way to La Plagne, you'll see a Geant Hypermarket and a Decathlon for your sporting needs..... |
