I used to catch the bus every weekend up to Pas de la Casa.
That was a few years ago now, but I believe it still runs. It leaves from near the train station, I think takes 2.5hrs. GOod skiing, but quite a few English yobs these days :( I'd be interested to hear how you get on Good luck!! |

You are right, queues at this time of year can be a pain. There are a couple of bottle necks. There's loads to do on jus the Morzine / Les Gets side.
Head up to the Nyon or Mont Cherie to avoid the crowds :) |

Hi folks
I run skiing / boarding holidays to Morzine in the French Alps and have a 'beginners only' week coming up on the 12th March 2011. All the info is at http://www.hofnar.com, but I've put a bit of 'gumpf' about it below. Take a look, see what you think...... The 'beginners and improvers' trip runs from 12 - 19 March. The price is £789pp (room of 3) or £839pp (twin / double). This includes: * Shared 'semi-catered' accommodation in a 4* chalet * 6 full days local area lift pass * Ski / Board hire (all the stuff you need, except clothes) * 6 mornings of skiing or boarding lessons * Continental breakfasts + full English breakfast once a week * Enough stuff at breakfast to make a packed lunch if you wish * Afternoon tea * Welcome drinks * Transfers from / to Geneva airport (worth £70) * Unlimited tea / coffee or hot chocolate * Services of HOFNAR rep. * Benefit of being in a small like minded group * Insurance Full information about the trip is on our website http://www.hofnar.com Basically you just need to get yourself to Geneva and we'll sort the rest. You can arrive/leave anytime on the saturdays, we have cars running at all times. Take a look at our travel pages for a few ideas, but if you would like to, go ahead and book your flights. I think that's about it, any problems, any questions, or indeed would like to book, do get in touch! Warm regards Daniel |

I'm a big fan of the plastic slope....to start with. It's great for just getting used to having heavy boots and planks on the end of your legs!
However, it hurts like hell when you fall and once you've been on real snow, there is just no comparison. If you live near one of the snowdomes / xscapes or whatever their names are, these are also really good, but expensive. These are also top just to get yourself 'warmed up' before going on a regular holiday. Anyways, let me take this opportunity to plug a beginners week I'm running in Morzine, where no experience in the slightest is required!! Learn to ski or learn to snowboard on the snow! in the mountains!! For all J2skiers there is 10% off so take a look and see what you think Cheers me dears Dan |
