I'm not sure how long my poles are but I know they are shorter than what they were. A ski instructor recommended that I shorten them to help keep my weight forward.

Just felt like gloating about the fact that I've just got back from a weeks skiing. Sure I was only skiing in Australia but we are having the best season in 17 years and it definitely beats working!

Thanks for the info on Hakuba. I have been considering it as a possible destination as I want to experience the real Japan without too many Australians. What is it like in terms of crowds?

I was about to deny that my ski jacket was a camping jacket but after checking the label, I've noticed it's called 'Discovery' (BTW, I have now replaced it with a new pink jacket which is definitely designed for skiing - I keep the old one to lend to friends that I coerce to go skiing with me.)
My poles aren't adjustable but they do have a very old sticker still stuck on them from a ski race I participated in about 15 years ago. My pants are in the boot. The pink gators are an add-on. My current boots aren't rear entry but my first pair were. When asked by the ski shop attendant (I won't call him a bootfitter) what type of boots I was looking for, I told him 'white ones.' As further inspiration to everyone, I've been looking through my photo albums and have found a few more likely entries.
A very enticing ensemble for my very first time skiing (how sexy is that shirt?)
Part of a very sinful group.

Let skiers who look cold sit in the middle on chairlifts.

Yes I am submitting my picture. And yes they are stretch pants. And I'm ashamed to say, I only replaced them this January.
