My partner insists on carrying my skis for me! and I'm more than happy to let him :D
Sabbatical - Places to rent...

Hello Everyone,

I did do a search as to whether this had been posted before but it doesn't look like it...... basically my boyfriend and I have decided that we would like to take 3 months out of work and go and spend the ski season somewhere like France, my Boyf is a great skier (been about 17-20 times) and I've only been skiing/ boarding twice (much prefer boarding to be honest) but I can not find anywhere to rent for the 2 months that we are out there, we preferably like a chalet that would sleep 4 people (so we can invite friends over) but we do not want a catered one, we'd like to be self sufficient, additionally we are not planning to work out there, just have some fun!!

Any advice (from someone who's done this type of thing before?) would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

Ok, I'm getting VERY excited now - only 3 sleeps to go!

Do you know of an accurate weather report engine? I'd really like to check out if it has snowed recently, or is forecast for doing so....

Thanks for your replies :D

Hello All,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right position, I went skiing for the first time last year and loved it!! naturally, I'm going again this year (in about 2 weeks, hurrahhh!) but the only problem is that I have large calves, I'm not big all over (about a size 12) but I found it really embarassing and difficult to get bigger boots. What would you recommend?

Thanks in advance :-)

Hey Everyone (well, 2 of you...)) thanks for your replies.

It seems that everyone else will be fine except for me! as I'm the beginner, but I don't mind if it's a challenge - as long as I can get down the slope in one piece and I enjoy myself on the holiday I don't mind :) afterall isn't thay why everyone ski's? because they enjoy it? ...

I'll let you know how I get on!

Hello All,

Some friends and I are going to St Anton (Nasserein) on the 9th March this year, I was wondering if anyone has been and what it's like please - also the main question... is there going to be snow?!

We are a group of 5 of us, 1 snowboarder, 4 skiiers - 3 very good and one beginner. Any info you could give me would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance :)
