Whether it is fall or Autumn the weather has been unseasonably warm down under and the forecast is for more of the same until the end of July so putting my wheels on and going downhill maybe the closest to skiing until at least August :(

Professional freestyle skier and coach Mitch Smith carving down the main resort road at Falls Creek. If you could paint the road white it would look even more like skiing

That's why rolling tread grass skiing is dying. Grass skis do not have proper bindings while i have them. if you use diagonals you will reduce the risk or even prevent ACL injuries. Kneebindings are supposed to be the best.

I finally got larger wheels mounted which required quite a few changes. I picked the gear up last Sunday and tried going faster. It works much better now. Since it was raining most of the weekend all dirt slopes around turned into mud slopes. If it rains again I'll try it on a wet sloping road in a nearby national park. This is becoming real fun :D

The main thing I got from that video is that grass skis don't to the right most of the time

or to put a more positive spin on it, they do the right thing sometimes. I tried them a while ago and concluded that they are not for someone who skis no more than a fortnight a year. However, in my case they worked as a pretty good cerebral stimulation -)

Wow. I'll think about making the wheels retractable like landing gear. Imagine how it would work if you could pull the wheels up in full flight and switch from my mode of operation to yours. We have to combine our efforts :)

That's the plan. I am ordering larger wheels suitable for grass. I'll be more comfortable trying steeper slopes on a more forgiving surface. I'll post the video as soon as I have it.
