Hi,

We have recently created a new website to provide information about cheap skiing on our website www.BudgetSlopes.com

So far we have written about a number of accommodation options, (mostly in France, but also further afield such as Canada and Bulgaria) and provided information such as the cost of luggage on flights, latest package deal offers, and more.

Examples of places we have written about include;

- Chalet Chardons in Tignes, Espace Killy
- Hotel Telemark in La Tania, Three Valleys
- Griz Inn in Fernie, Canada
- Chalet Diana, Bansko

We will be looking to expand the information on the site to write about resorts in general and specific cheap bars, restaurants, etc as the site develops.

Looking to get some feedback on peoples thoughts on the website, and in particular any information that people have of any cheap resorts, accommodation, bars, etc that they know of that they would like to share with others

For any business owners that would like to be featured on this site please also get in contact. We currently have one place in Bansko that has offered 10% discount to our readers so any further chances to offer deals like this would be welcomed, or if you simply think your site/accomodation would be worth a mention, please also get in contact.

Thanks
Michael Goodall
Flying with Swissair - Ski baggage

I hadnt included Aer Lingus on my comparison mentioned above. I don't think they fly from UK to ski destinations. They do from Dublin and for these flights the cost of baggage on a return flight would be €90

2 x €15 for hold baggage
2 x €30 for ski baggage

For reference that's alot less than Ryanair £150, and a little more than Easyjet £74

Have recently put together an article comparing a number of airlines for the baggage they charge on a European return flight, including both standard baggage and ski/snowboard charges.

Perhaps no surprises that Ryanair topped the table as most expensive. Swiss Air was one of a few Airlines that have no charges at all for either normal or ski baggage.

Just starting out with my website trying to help make skiing more affordable so please come and check it out or follow budgetslopes on twitter

La Tania at New Year.

Visited La Tania during 2011 and can highly recommend it. We visited in early Feb and even though there hadn't been any new snow for almost a month the piste bashers managed to keep the snow in great condition across the Three Valleys including right down into the centre of La Tania.

We stayed at the Hotel Telemark which is a great value catered hotel in La Tania. It isn't five star luxury but does provide a great cheap base for you ski holiday and the food was great. The bar in the hotel was also great with sky sports on the TVs.

From the hotel it was a very short ski down the piste to the gondola, and from their it was two short lift rides up to the top of the mountain where you could either ski down into Courchevel or Meribel.

I have also reviewed this Hotel on my new website so feel free to check it out.
