Scarlet Fez - will expect a full report on your return as we go to Hinterglemm on 2nd Feb. Read nothing but good reviews on the Goasstahl bar...might be some mentions on Tripadvisor

Rocksy - I posted something similar back in August and was advised to go to Hinterglemm (suppose mainly for fact that girlfriend can be on nursery slopes outside hotel so no long haul trips with skis etc) but enough blue and reds to keep me amused. Learnt to ski in Chatel myself so hoping similar runs and options. Ski circus looks the ticket. Going 2nd Feb

Well girlfriend and I are going to Hinterglemm (which is next door to Saalbach I believe) on 2nd Feb and we have been told to try the Goasstall bar for some lively apres! We are in our 40s and the bar does look very lively. If anyone been then let us know what Hinterglemm like. Girlfriends first taste of skiing! Fingers crossed. Staying at the Kwanserai as didn't feel roughing it first time would be sensible!!

In terms of my skiing ability I am not at off piste level. I am very comfortable on reds and some blacks but I have not mastered off piste so I would need some nice fast reds and the odd challenging black to keep me interested. I only took up the sport 4 or so years ago...so around 4/5 weeks skiing in total. Only ever skied in France. Keen to try other areas.

Tony_H - fair question! My initial request was slightly tongue in cheek. Having spoken to my girlfriend about skiing she really wants to go and I feel it would be important that her first introduction to skiing should be somewhat impressive in terms of looks, ease of access to the nursery slopes, apres ski etc etc. Clearly cost is a factor but prepared to push the boat out this first time...
