does it have to be french? im a big fan of austria too-went to kitzbuhel earlier this year and although it is busy in parts, you can stay either on outskirts or in somewhere like Kirchberg which is a great wee place-good skiing too esp if you are going then as is quite low

i didnt know there were 4 options to the mounting-i know that you can get them mounted in the centre for freestyle-spinning and jumping etc so I would say go with the standard one. I would need to find out where the "core centre" is and where the "true ski centre" was first!
dont go for mid sole though as the front will not be long enough for offpiste powdery stuff |

pretty sure peak leaders do a course in NZ too-they are supposed to be pretty good-also they do one in argentina which im looking at for next year, although might just end up booking a flight to chile instead

i reckon they will be fairly old skis-back from the days when there were no carvers and skis were that long!
probably just standard downhill alpine skis-wouldnt say they are cross country or anything |
