I always have a real fear first day that I'm not going to manage to get off the first chair lift without either falling flat on my face or even worse ending up going back down the hill on the chair!!
Once I've managed to conquer that then it's normally fairly plain sailing (in a very average skiing style). |

Good effort Cwagner.
You must love the snow (and your kids can't you leave em at home it would save a fortune and allow the second trip)!! |

Open the balcony doors and stand outside in the cold with a cup of tea taking in the smell of the pure air and the snow.
Sorry don't mean to be a woose but I do beleive there is a particular mountain air smell and it always gets me excited about the day ahead. |

One of the main reasons I chose Isola (2 Euro transfer) Local bus company does it however you do have to book in advance. Transfer takes you from front of airport to middle of resort 1 Euro each way.

I am doing a "cheap as chips" option in Jan 2010.
Flights from LPL to Nice £61 Return Transfers Nice to Isola 2000 £2 return seven nights selfcatering Apt 4 (shared between 2) + six day lift pass + ski & boot hire = £258 Therefore full trip excl meals and refreshments £321. Of course I could well end up spending a fortune on food/Drink however hopefully will make more use of supermarkets than restaraunts. You never know there might be enough left in the kitty for another trip in March/April time :D |

Hey it's cool to read your thread and realise I am not the only saddo trying to memorise the piste maps when I'm still more than 68 days away from the snow (Isola 2000 9th Jan 2010).
Hope you guys have a great time in ADH and I'm joining the prayer group for plenty of southern Alps snow! |

Hi,
Thinking off a weeks cheap skiing in Isola 2000 mid Jan 2010. Myself and family begginers and intermediates. Just wondered if anyone would care to share any views on this resort, likelyhood of snow and suitability of skiing. Looks OK (but not brilliant) from what I've read so far but would like any opinions. many Thanks Andrew |

Thanks for the responses that gives me plenty to go on.
Daved you are right re cheapest transfer don't care if train, bus or taxi. The £40 transfer from Salzburg you mention is that bus ot taxi? Bandit, I most likely will go down the chalet route as I am not overly keen on skiing anything too exciting by myself. Thanks again |
