Hi Christian
Our group has been there twice and the intermediates skied all over the place and loved it, you can't go much wrong. My favourite runs were at the top of the Solaise in Val D'Isere. If you stop at the Folie Deuce (which you must) take enough money, it's extortionate  In Le Lac there's a great, cheap bar at the bottom of the Trolles. Not very French but very friendly. Enjoy  |

It seems that it was my new name/sport that hijacked the thread . Sorry snowb4ndit
Back on to ADH, the advice I would give you would be to make sure you get a chalet near one of the main lifts as it's quite a spread out village. If you go during a peak week and have to rely on the lobster pot lift (aka Telecentre?) then you have to allow a lot of time to get to the slopes. Another option could be one of the satelite villages which may be cheaper I think. Tony's chalet seemed to be spot on and he only ever books bargains... |

Ally: 6 and a half sleeps
it was really exciting seeing a few mates in the pub last night arranging our pre-holiday drink next friday evening. It's gotta be an early one though, we're the first collection at 2:30am  I really haven't had a lot of luck with the exercises. Mine of choice is yoga and my left shoulder is still killing me from the awful drag lift (on a board backwards) at Hemel a few weeks back. Still, I've felt with boarding that it isn't as tiring as skiing and I'm generally quite fit so, hopefully, I may be ok. Alistair: We've done Obergurgl twice now so may leave it for a while before we may or may not go back. I absolutely love it there but if I don't go anywhere else I may not find somewhere I love even more :D. Absolutely no idea about next season yet, which isn't like me at all! |

and this is one of the reasons why I love you  |

I forgot to mention, on a negative note...
We get back on the saturday and, because of my new responsibilities at work, I have to go in on the [Easter] sunday and the bank holiday monday and then the Tuesday is my first proper day taking on my new responsibilities. Rank eh? And none of it my doing  |

will do
Tony, you know I know. Appreciate the comments. I think I'm in the fortunate/unfortunate position of never mastering skiing so it seems like the perfect opportunity.
my brand new (long awaited) iphone is up and running so not having to take a camera, phone, ipod et al will, hopefully, afford me more space/incentive to take lots of pictures. I know there was an apps thread back in september that didn't come to much fruition but has anyone discovered any apps of note during the season? I've got the scgb forecast one but I'd love a piste map one if anyone's got any recommendations? |
