Hi this is Tomskis other half. I have been skiing twice before using normal skis etc, i am still finding it hard to parellel turn.I have been given some snow blades to use and wondering if i should use them ? As i have been told that they are easier to use is this true?as i dont wont to knock my confidence . :?:ta
hi everyone ,due to change of plans and lack of communication with the bergland express snow train ,i have had to rescue our family ski trip to zell m see austria by booking return flights with ryanair, now i am not going to knock them as we havent flown with them before but i have read a few things about them on the web,my concerns are having paid for the check in and bags x4 plus £50 for a ski carrying bag, i am not sure what the weight for ski bag is, normal bags are 15kg limit but there is nothing mentioned about ski bag ,i have tried to contact ryanair but i dont seem able to speak to a person it is all automated on line stuff, is the max 32kg like other airlines or less my ski bag weights 6kg on its own, also i did not know that its a run for the best seat ,we have never done this before does it mean my wife and kids might all be sitting in different seats,if so my son and daugter will be terrified it sounds like something out of a cattle market, any advise would be very helpfull ,flying from bristol 2 weeks time

hi pavelski thankyou for the lesson,i do apologise for the poor grammar but i have been writting in that way since i left school 30 years ago ,however i can build a complete house on my own now from scratch ,so i will survive, yes and my bindings are atomic sx 310, my boots 34 cm ,or 13.5 inches, my weight is 115kg ,or 254 lbs but will be down to 210 lbs after i have been training, in reply to marks comments i do realise the importance of getting the correct settings on the bindings, however last season i ripped my achilles tendon and calf muscle in a fall which may have been caused by the wrong settings in the ski hire shop,i fell forward and the bindings just stayed on and my body kept going forward the ski dug in and everthing stretched untill bang ,off work for 5 weeks, so i really want to learn everthing i can in the correct way so i can prevent that from happening again, although i am a late starter to the ski world at 45 i have never loved any sport as much ,more mistakes mr pavelski oops ,

Now i have my own ski,s 170 atomic sx 9 ,i need a little information on setting up bindings i dont know which setting is best for my weight, and i dont know how to alter the bindings them selves,i dont expect a quick answer as i am sure there is a lot to it but a good website that some one knows would go a long way preferably a site with illustrations ,i tried to see if pavelski had some thing but alot of his tuition goes on behind the scenes in the form of homework ect, also how do you work out the lengh of pole that you need is it to the hight of your hip? cheers tom
cant say to much i havnt won them yet ,so i better not count my chickens just yet if you know what i mean cheers.
thank you for your comments every one very helpfull, i think you are all on the right lines the ski,s may have been a bit tired as they were hire ones ,and my brother in law said a few times lean forward you wont fall down, and also as a big guy i exspect my legs ect get tired towards the end of a week ,ise decided to go for the atomics sx9s 170 they are going cheap so i have bargain ,and i got a feeling south west england is in for a dump of snow this winter ,white quantock hills great!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers
