They do take good stills, but not in low light levels.

Being aimed at the action sports market, the gopro really isn't designed to take good stills (or video for that matter) at low light levels.

When are you going to NZ? also, where else in NZ are you going to be?
Whakapapa has a better learners area, particularly if the weather isn't so great. If you are travelling from wellington, Turoa will be a little closer, and if from Aucland, Whakapapa will be closer. If possible, you should be flexible with the day that you want to go, and try to pick a day with nice weather. |

Yes I am with Ally and Tony on this one, but generally find a good quality merino will not itch badly, more that I need to get used to it. The slight itch is more than worth it for me for the benefits of the merino though. I also find a brand new merino needs to be washed a few times, this helps to reduce the itchiness.

Actually it is possible to work with UNESCO to develop ski areas within world heritage areas. Being a world heritage area also has significant tourism implications on its own, so I would be taking this quite seriously if I were a part of the Bulgarian government.
The issue is more about development being carried out, from planning to completion, following the guidelines and consultation processes required to ensure that the world heritage area is not "damaged" and that development has a minimal impact on the environment both visually and environmentally. As an example, the 2 skifields of Turoa and Whakapapa in the North Island of New Zealand are entirely within the boundaries of a world heritage area. In the last few years, there have been new buildings, as well as new and relocated lifts installed without any issue from UNESCO regarding the status of the world heritage area, simply because the quidelines were followed. |

These lifts are quite common around Japan, I found that video by searching on youtube.
If you ever go to Japan, and as you like powder, you should definitely consider it, do not shun these chairs. At some resorts, these lifts are the only way to access some terrain. Slow, single seat lifts as the only access to terrain = fresh tracks all day. |
