i went in the 05/06 winter new years period and we were unfortunate that intrwest were on strike but considering this there was still half the lifts and at least half the runs open. It was a good start to the season that year so helped out a lot.
The thing i noticed there was that runs tend to be quite short (except the huge green run nansen-9km roughly) I timed myself once and skied down in the "tuck" and was 3 and a bit mins and i could have pushed more and taken a more direct route, so this then means a bit of lift queing however was lovely scenery so didnt mind so much! Must say i tried a beaver tail and yummy is all i'm saying! Would certainly return, liked it alot, just long plane journeys from heathrow are the downside! Chris |

i dont know about niderau but i have found from private lessons in other countries (france and canada) that i learnt alot when i had them as you aren't waiting around for people slower or you aren't holding people up. Also you get more friendly with the instructor and get to know them better so the instruction is more personal!
I would have said two private lessons would be better than a weeks ski school! chris |

Hi guys just looking at my families holiday! I am the most intersted about skiing and resorts etc and look into prices etc for my parents to book (proivded they like the place) otherwise i'd end up in courmayeur every year! Where as i like to see different resorts!
Basically i want some info on ischgl from people who have visited there before! We're looking at going over christmas so i thought this would be a good choice due to the altitude? Whats the usual snow conditions at this time of the year? Our skiing abilities are from my mum who will go up and down a nice easy run all day too me who wants lots of different runs and some nice steep 'uns! Also the possibility to learn how to ski off-piste?? We have a price on a B&B hotel so whats evening meals like in the resort? And finally there would be a non-skier with us so is there much for them to get up too!? Thanks in advance Chris |

first trip was 2004 when i was 13. Went to winter park in colorado with school and i loved it!
My parents were never really that interested in skiing but one of their freiends persuaded them to go and so they booked for us to go to la plagne two weeks after winter park! I've been hooked ever since and have a been at least once ever season since then! |

My dads there at the mo and he's just been on the phone! He said that its good, the skiing's good and there's a nice long green run about 3 miles long roughly!
His Jacket zip broke when he got there and he's ended up buying a north face jacket and sallopetes for £100. He had a private lesson today with 2 of his mates and they payed 70 levi each which is the equvialent to £26/27! A bargain i'd say. |
