Can I ask you something...?
Do you wear impact shorts when boarding - how essential do you think they are?
We got the wrist guards for our 14 yo, but not sure about the shorts yet....

Should this have been a pm? Please be gentle with me for my 1st wander off topic....

(And it's not me who's gone to the dark side ) )

In Arabba I will mostly be wearing... [see what I did there ]

I wore impact shorts when I did the learning course but found that the only part of my side/derrier area that I needed padding for was my coccyx. I hated the shorts, they were very uncomfortable so I found a coccyx protector on the internet. It's quite unsightly and bigger than I'd hoped for but at least I can take it out when we stop for lunch, etc. If I take to it I'll go for something a bit more to my liking.

I've also got borrowed boarding gloves with guards but mr-a has the guards to put in his gloves. Lastly I have knee pads which are essential for me as, apart from anything else, it's uncomfortable to kneel after acl replacement.

I reckon a youngster may get away with a little bit of padding of some sort round the coccyx but, apart from that, you could really go on forever

Given the steep slopes in Arabba I think my coccyx protector will be well used

I fear the snow may be a tad softer when we get there  but, what the hell, I'm going to enjoy it.
Does anyone know if there's a bar that plays football in Arabba? Please don't judge me but there's a rather important match next wednesday that can't be missed

Don't know about the footie, but there is snow forecast for next week, which is good news....

I actually stopped looking yesterday as it kept changing so much. Last I saw there was a dump due on saturday morning so, as happened to Lynn, I fear a loooong transfer. Still it could never be as bad as the 7 hours to Les Arcs

Thanks MFC, the chalet staff should know then. I'm not sure how far from Arabba I'll be travelling this time, I'll know better after day one .
Nice photos

Everything else aside, I always like to hear that someone's having a good day :D 8)
I remember you talking about a weird one man lift where people go both ways, I'd go with Sauze too.
Fourth one is a fond view of mine.
seventh one is my favourite, really eerie.

Lynn, that's totally naff, sorry to hear.
