So who here double pole plants like bode on this video and who single pole plants? Any technical pro's and con's of each or is it just a personal preference?

Looking at the bollé-safety website looks like they make a shaded version of the contour. Cant for the life of me find a seller with them though.

EDIT: Looks like theres loads on ebay dunno why i didnt look on there last night duh!:

I bought a pair of the contour esp's. Got them delivered yesterday. First impressions is I really like them but unsure how they would hold up in very sunny conditions with my eyes. They are very light, very flexible and very very comfortable. They hardly disturb your vision at all!

Might get hold of a pair of bolle axis shaded an see how they compare.

Trencher

I've just done a week in Andorra and tested Trencher's (see Posting 314 dated 05 01 08) Bolle pink (yes pink!) tinted safety glasses recommendation.

Incredible performance in any light conditions.
Well up to my Ray Ban 'Glacier' costing £squillions.

Don't worry that the tint is faint..it's fully UV rated. At a tenner incl postage, for Bolle it's a steal.

Well done that man!

Is this the one you tried Dave? Gonna get a range of glasses and goggles this year and see what tints shapes etc i prefer. At this price these should deffo be involved.

Yeah flying to Innsbruck makes a big difference to transfer times but sometimes the flights are all gone and you gotta take the 5hrs!

Once you there though its great! Couldn't imagine being somewhere were you cant step out of the apartment straight onto the slopes.

You mean you dont put them on in the house when noones around and ski down the stairs?!

Personally never been on a dry slope although i have touched one as a youth at an athletics meeting. Didnt look to enticing. Would probably opt for chill factor e snowdome instead these days.

Hiya, i went last year in March and going again this year 15th March. Loved every minute of it. I didn't really pay attention to the names of places so im not going to be much use to you there but we ate out in a different restaurant every night and all of them were good.

There are 2 main skiing areas in Livigno (either side of the valley) separated by a free bus service (or a trek across the bottom). My only recommendation would be to use both and dont get on the wrong bus as one of 3 coloured routes goes miles out the way!! You have got plenty of time to explore both sides. Last year I only got a taste of the Mottolino side due to the group I was with so spent most of my time on the Carosello side.

On the Mountain (Carosello side) theres a little German bar at the top of lift 25-26. Very small and very cosy, I enjoyed it in there for food (daytime) and drink. You dont get more than 25ish people in so it makes a change from the hustle and bustle of the top hill places.

Anyway Im no expert on the place but expect to love it like i did last year.

Found this forum for it you could check out:

Enjoy your trip, I may even see you there (probably cut me up on the slope and send me flying!)
