hi all, does any one know any thing about chamrousse in regards to who owns it, the reason i ask is ,we a family of four have been sking for the last 3 years and would like to go this year jan 09 and as this credit crunch is bitting in to our pockets chamrouse seemed to be our chance to ski £1121 sc for 4 people ski pass included or ofered free of charge ,however looking on some websites whilst searcing for information on chamrousse it seems the end of 07 the company transmontagne which owned chamrousse went bankrupt and it looks like people were caught out lossing money ,also it looks like some of the apartments have been done out nice but there were pictures of some apartments looking like they were in the middle of iraq vandalised with windows and doors broken and hanging off does any one have any information to say if everything is ok now as all i can find online is reports about a year old ,and a lot can happen in that time

i was just wondering, is this general dislike of snow blades by some caused by fear of change or are a lot of people just stuck in their ways (or is that the same thing)because i think the same thing happened when snow boarders started to change the look of the slopes ,i my self am now stuck on skis for ever tomski.

hi Elanboy i dont know about balls to the wall ,but i think you may have just piddled on some ones fire ,i dont have any bad feelings towards boarders but i think there is an element of danger caused by boarders and skiers alike who are irresponsible on the slopes but they are fairly rare,in reply to the original question i think i will stay on skis but will try the blades in a quiet area to see for my self ,i am hoping this being my 3rd year willbe third time lucky ,

we were at soldeu the first week in march last year and found it very changeble we had a little snow but it was mostly the snow cannons that kept it going ,in that week there was 2 good days but mostly sun which gets fairly warm, and during the afternoons it was slushy then freezes at night which left us on sheet ice in a few places, but it was fun and very cheap, and last year was pants in most places ,we will go again some day,oh if you do go its best to get a hotel in soldeu we stayed in eltarter just down the road ,but most the action is at soldeu and to walk up there is knackering after being on the slopes all day, and if you take the cross country route (short cut) its stinky, those who have been will know why,
