Ok, so it's too late to be of any use this season, but it may be worth a quick post for anyone that may have looked at the thread for possible trips next year.
We have just come back from Sauze D and were very pleased with the Torino - Sauze transfers provided by Andrea of Milky Way Taxis, Sauze D'Oulx. (+39 3394 711 384) Very comfortable minibus and by far the most reasonable cost of any other providers we tried. Recommended. |

Many thanks bald-eagle man,
I did go the SnowCab website to get a quote & nothing was flagged up to say that Turin-Sauze wasn't possible. I'll ring or email them to see, but thanks for the alert. ATB. |

Many thanks Rozfitz.
(Apologies. Hadn't logged in to J2 for a week or two!) Snowcab seems very promising, working out much more reasonable than a couple of initial tries, plus there's even a 'Shared Plus' option which is interesting. |

Anyone have a recommendation for transfers from Turin to Sauze D'Oulx?
Many, many years ago I did train and bus which really wasn't too bad - as far as I can remember - but a nice cushy private pickup/dropoff would be preferable now I'm in my dotage. We're looking at late March & crossing fingers for a favourably snowy late season. |

Best way to get from UK to Val Gardena/Selva?

Many thanks Pinimage,
I'm not sure about car hire these days. I know it offers much more flexibility for travel but cost-wise it has apparently become rather prohibitive since Covid came along. I wouldn't rule it out but I prefer to use public transport wherever possible as a first choice. |

Yes, OldAndy & Swingbeep, there is a winter service from Dublin to Verona on Tuesdays & Saturdays this coming year, so if it is still on for 2024 then that sounds like it might be our best way to go. Many thanks to you both and I'll look more at the logistics hoping things will be similarly fixed come booking time next September/October.

Thanks OldAndy,
I have thought of Venice (Marco Plo) as it's possibly one of the easiest to get to - e.g; Ryanair from Dublin (altho' Verona & Milan possibles?), but could you enlighten me a bit more about the transfer, please? I.e; how big was your group to make it a reasonable cost and how long a journey is it roughly? I am aiming for a group of 8 for next year, but as happened this year, it can prove difficult to co-ordinate diaries and commitments so that it might only be a 4-some. We would book the flights and transfers ourselves but possibly use SunWeb to book accommodation (+ included Liftpass!) as they seem to have a few places that would suit our needs & budgets. Several other - less common - airports that I looked at all seemed to be linked to exorbitant transfer quotes making the whole trip a non-starter, plus some were a longer run than we'd prefer. We're used to having to do 3-3 & a half hrs for example in France, but I did a very uncomfortable 5hr+ transfer from Brescia to Livigno once and I'd rather not repeat something like that again if possible. Many Thanks, Dave |
