-2 for me. First ski of season this week in Cervinia.

Really is a no-brainer. Austria superior in food, scenery, culture (more like Anglo-Saxon), price, linguistics (more English speakers) and attitude. Skiing about the same.

Cervinia has tonnes on the webcams. Down to village. -21 forecast for Monday - eek

Because of school holidays we normally book early. Might do last minute this year. We live in Geneva so if we come up empty we can always do day trip to PDS, GM etc.

Thanks for very useful info SwingBeep. Very tempted this year to leave everything until the last minute and see where the snow\accomodation is come Feb. Fearful this might back fire though.

Yep Gareth, at this stage it will be Cervinia or Sestriere. Snow forecast for later in week and Plan Maison cam showed decent cover albeit in ordinary weather. Will let you know what we find

I am looking at the webcams trying to figure out where around Geneva to go around the 8th December. At the moment 3V, espace Killy and Les Arcs et al look diabolical. No real snow forecast for next week either.

Thanks AllyG. Still debating whether to pull the trigger on this or wait and see, which runs the risk of ending up with nothing. The good news is they have snow, whilst 3V, Alpe Dhuez, VT etc look barren at the moment.
