The only other question I have is 'will it snow again before I go' - unfortunately I suspect you can't answer that! Looks like a decent base so if we stay higher and North Facing we should just about be okay even if we don't get another dusting. I think conditions now are perfect...

Hi All,

Off to Megeve in just under two weeks, staying near the Jaillet side if town. So, any hints or tips as we've never been before - must do runs, restaurants not to miss etc (on and off the slope). Good après spots?

We're renting skis from Pelloux Sports at the bottom of Chamois so that's our route up the mountain everyday unless we decide to do Jaillet - good idea?

Make sure if the app needs any maps you download bbefore you go or use wifi in the resort. Apart from that as per previous comments turn off data etc and GPS should still work, I use ski tracks and the same applies.

Hi All, thanks for all of your responses. I do have a dearth of spare ski socks that I can't seem to bring myself to throw away so for a simple a quick first try and I'll try cutting my feet off.

Thanks, it also backs up my idea that simple is best!

Hi All,

I have my own Ski Boots that I bought second hand a few years, they fit ridiculously well considering that I bought them unseen on a bit of a whim which I appreciate is not ideal and I wouldn't actually recommend it to someone else.

However, I have skinny legs so get a bit more movement around the shin and the calf than I'd like - doesn't really bother me and is a very minor annoyance but are there any solution to this on the market? is it a trip to a boot fitter for a different lining that would compensate?

Off to Megeve in January, currently looking at Car Hire on the Swiss side of Geneva Airport due a special offer on my credit card but not much in it really cost wise.

So - pros/cons of car hire French/Swiss side in Geneva?
