Ouch!!

That was one of the crucial tips they gave me, spot your landing and lean accordingly. If (should a fluke occur) you see your skis facing downhill and you have nailed a 360 lean back slightly, if you only do a 180 lean forward upon landing. Either way you're leaning uphill!

How do you do the 180 and land backwards??

Errrr........ try and do a 360 spin, fail, then lean forward when you land! )

I was told to push my shins right up against me boots, pop out at the top of the jump and lead the rotation with my head and feet. Keep eyes level, bend knees when landing and lean forward if you're not wearing twin tips.

I think if we'd have had more height we'd have done a 360, our rotation wasn't quick enough.

Went to the Soloman grom camp at tamworth just now and have done a jump with a 180 turn (land backwards) and I can also slide down a box sideways!! Wooo Wooo
I got the only adult pair of poles I saw in the shop, I did also see 2 child pairs (about 70cm) at different locations in the store but no actual pole display??

You might say..... TK Maxx's organisation is a long way off "Pole Position!" I love crap puns!

I think womens clothes is the way forward!!
OK, I've just raped the TK Maxx in Nottingham, walked in for a nosey safe in the knowledge that I already have everything I need to ski. Looked in the Girls section with my better half and came across a womens "quiksilver" jacket for £29.99 (RRP £110). The Jacket was last seasons and was apparently a Small Womens. Quiksilver don't make womens clothes - it's branded as Roxy for women so I thought to my self "I may be in for a bargain here!!" Tried it on and it fitted like a glove. Cool Camo design too!! Must have been an error on the TK maxx front, considering not one Quiksilver jacket in the mens section was less than £60

Also bought a pair of Leki Poles for £9.99

Also bought a white pair of tresspass goggles for 12.99

Also bought a pair of Billabong gloves for £7.99

Also bought a Tresspass peaked hat for £4.99

Now I have a few bits spare??

Lots of good gear in Nottingham store - Men, Look in the womens section!! (Stay away from the lingere though, unless you're that way inclined of course???)

I stayed in Pas christmas 2004, absolutely fantastic! loads of nightlife, go to the mexi-shack night - all you can eat / drink!! great night! Underground was a great bar for night time too. Plenty of restaurants about near the main lift so you'll find somewhere. We skied all day christmas day and the hotel (llac negra) put on a great christmas lunch for us and gave us loads of party stuff (horns etc...) within minutes 50 sensible adults turned into wild animals!!

We had loads of snow then too, last january was in Pal / Arinsal pistes were pretty bare??? Fingers crossed!!

Have fun!!
Can me and my good lady shotgun next season (09/10)???

Unfortunately, I have a degree to polish off this year!
