Gary, I don't know as when I was there in December the route was not possible due to conditions, but going by this http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Italy/Courmayeur.html it looks like lift up to where you would start the route is covered. I guess bus back to Courmayeur is an extra and for this route a mountain guide is advised. Enjoy, as I here it is a spectacular ski of 4-5hrs

Pila and La Thuile were good. Some nice "just off the piste" to be had at Pila.
You get 2 days at other Aosta resorts on the Courmayeur local pass. If going to more than two check day pass prices and use your two inclusive at the more expensive resorts. Pila day pass is dearer than La Thuile, for example. |

Yup, can confirm here in Obergurgl hasn't stopped all day. Looks like around 30cm. Had a great time in the powder on and off piste, difficult to tell at times if we were on or off piste. Visibility varied and we spent most of our time low down. Best conditions I have ever had here this time of year

Just back from a wonderful week staying at the Harfenwirt in Niederau and enjoyed the walking in the valley.
For all those who love to ski in 'N', like I do, and have heard the proposal talked about for many years of linking Auffach and Alpbach. Well the link now appears to be going ahead for Winter 1012/13, with construction starting Summer 2012. The Project is showing in the current 2011/12 Wildschonauer Bergbahnen leaflet. To quote: "An 8-man gondola starting from the Hankopf lift on the Schatzberg takes you to the Pechalm mid station at 1460m. An attractive 1600m long ski run with snow making facilities joins the two lift stations. From the mid station another 8 man gondola takes you directly to Pogalm gondola in Inneralpbach, your entrance to the Alpback ski area…… No change of lift is necessary on the return trip to the Schatzberg. The Ski region Wildschonau – Alpbach has a total of 130km of ski runs on one ski pass." |

Hi Folks,
probably posted before but just in case anyone is interested I came across the live broadcast from TW1 TV in Austria. In the mornings (as those who go to Austria will know) they broadcast live streams from webcams around the Austrian and some German resorts. Certainly makes interesting viewing in a morning and puts me in the mood for some skiing :D Hope you enjoy and recognise some of the views. Regards, David http://meta.insinc.com/insinc-eu/108tw1/108tw1_t.asx just paste link into your browser and this should load up Media Player |
