We had our first visit to the area last Feb and loved it, lift system is superb. as already said the Ronda is something to do but its certainly not the best of the skiing available. I'd recommend a trip down to Poza, easy access by following the green route to the cable car at Belveder go down in it to Alba 20 paces across to the gondola up to Ciampac and two chairlifts later your skiing down into Poza on one of the best runs(there are red and black options-red is superb) in the entire area, from Bufffaure into Poza. Simply follow the orange route back to base. Enjoy.

Does anyone know if I can use my 20kgs luggage allowance on a package holiday, flying Thompsons, to take a large coffin ski bag with all my kit in it without paying the additional ski carriage? Have tried asking the travel agent but got no definative answer and have had no reply from Crystal.

I aquired a pair of Watea 84's in 184 length just as the snow vanished last season so not had a slide on them yet. Does anyone have a view on how they will compare to my current Rossi SC80 Phantoms at 175. I'm 5'11, 82kgs and like to keep ahead of my teenagers! All of the above seems a long way away from my Volkl P9 RS 203cm which have been in my hall cupboard for the last 10 years.

I'm going with a group of families in mid Feb. Adults and kids have ski experience from four weeks to 30 years. Just looking for information that may improve our holiday from anyone who's been.

One of our group has had to change travel plans and is now faced with getting from Turin airport to Oz en Osians (near A.d'H.) on Monday13th April, Easter Monday. I anyone else doing that journey that day or does anyone have any good ideas apart from taxi?

Been to Val T quite a few times, great ski area. Stayed in Balcons last Spring and used the on site Twinner ski hire. Booked on line beforehand to save the cash and got great service from the shop, changed my skis halfway through the week to try another pair without any problems. I'd advise use of the free bus to return to Balcons at the end of the day, the stretch of hill which enables you to ski back to Balcon from plein sud when we were there wasn't pleasant for inexperienced skiers. A fall near the end could see you land on the road! Would advise use of the onsite bar where the happy hour was 4-6. Enjoy.

Thanks for your replys guys. Our prefered resorts in Italy are proving difficult from the point of SC accomodation we can all fit in. Montgenevre,Serre and Alpe d'Huez are now top of the list.Looking at chartering a coach to do the transfer to/from Ad'H, so if we end up going there we may have spaces available!

Considering here for the second week in April, family group, does anyone have experience of the area for likely snow conditions at that time. I see they advertise a lot of snow cannon, is it likely to be able to ski back to here from the runs above Alpe d'Huez? Any info on kids ski school would be great also.
