Been there twice now, Quaint little town, not too lively. Are you staying in the Planibel complex? Plenty of skiing for all abilities, ski into France if pistes are open and visibility is good. Food is amazing too.

Why not try Anodorras resorts like Pas de la casa or Arinsal. Nightlife meant to be really good, and its not too much of a highend ski resort.

Yep, always wanted to try France. I want some nice cruisey pistes, plus few good bumps and powder. Also looking at a company called H.O.F.N.A.R, www.hofnar.com, have you heard or ever used them.

Yes MCD's in Zermatt, very good. Its even designed inside like a log cabin....Cozy. Zermatt also has a dirty kebab place too. Like bein back home.... God how sad....

Hi, my suggestion would be to hire a car, and drive to Villars, bout hour and a half. Zermatt last year and found the drive surprisingly easy and a great experience.
Villars also reporting good skiing conditions. Hope this helps. PS Transfers shouldnt be too much either. Marc |

Hi mate sounds like you had a great time, seriously though, apart from takin lessons, use the internet. There are loads of sites with tips on transitioning from snowplow to parallel. And then once you are there you will be flying around the mountain. Its all about practice, just keep it up.
As beginners we started in La Thuille, in Italy. Tonnes of excellent plenty of cruisey, wide flat runs. The day we went on a 45 minute trek to La Rosiere, the neighbouring resort in France. There are also some resorts that you are able to ski all year round, which are the big glaciers.(one in Italy, Zermatt-Switzerland, did this one last summer. Can be a little icy, but still possible. But if you like walking, it is beautiful, with amazing views of the Matterhorn, at whatever point you are in.)
