I agree have used Snowtrex a few times -basic accomodation but can take the hassle out of finding and booking stuff. Although if you search about can find good accomodation just as cheap renting directly from owners.

We have been to La Joue du Loup twice and would strongly recommend it for intermediates although the black Le Mur is really good. Agree with most of what Julia said but would add that we went to Valberg last year and it was nowhere near as good. La Joue du Loup is is quite a family place and small so therefore has very little nightlife.(Can't speak for Super Devoluy). Cheap for France and not well known so not too crowded even in holiday times- Enjoyable to ski across from one village to another - good restaurants on the pistes.
