Dear All,

Like most of you I have returned from mt weeeks in the white stuff (Sob..>) But I am already planning another trip next year (rubbing hands gleefully!!!....)

This year I spent most of my time inVerbier, as usual, but managed to do it on a SUPER budget by staying at 'The Bunker', basically a hollowed out ex nuclear, well, bunker. But they do also have a summer house that they do double rooms in that was FANTASTIC!!! all you needed really for abot 25CHF a night. Compared to the rest of Verbier it was fantastic.....anyway this leads me onto my main point........... Next year my group and I hope to go to St Anton in Austria. I was hoping for some local knowledge from you guys....

Is there any cheap budget hostels of hotels there worth looking at????

Help very much appreciated!!!!!!!

Yours in Powder.

Little time......little money - sob

Bandit, Ross
Once again, much obliged with the advice. I aman Advanced getting towards expert (eventually!!!) skierI have just found that with getting a bit older (even at 25 my legs are starting to give in, I blame the rugby I play!) and dare i say, heavier I have found it harder and harder to haul my tips across anything other than piste and the odd venture into the deep stuff. My PE's float well enough and park wise i did my first 360 on them so Im kinda sentimental lol.

Bandit, interestingly I was looking at the movement skis. Namely the 04/08 Flame, to similar to the PE? I dont know. I dont have a deal with K2, just kinda always stuck with them but you are right they are getting heavier, good for blasting through crudge I know but as I said, my bodies a crumbling mess and i need somethinga bit more nimble.

Ross, will have a look at the nomads. What about the K2 Recons? a bit pricey maybe?

Tom

Ha Ha - very true Ross. Gonna play with my binding set up etc in the first coupke of months see what i get. Thanks for the help

Tom
Thanks guys....

Im not very eloquent and my semantics leave a little to be desired!! I meant that I use my PE's for the pow, they are wide enough round the waist but i need something thats not so heavy and quicker edge to edge for trees etc, doesnt necessarilly need to be deep pow.

My theory was that shorter skiis with a skinnier waist might be easier to manage. Generally was going to use the silencers as a All Mountain ski. Initially thats what I bout the PE's for but they are just to heavy to lug around the place.

Hmmmm - im confused now lol

Tom
Dearest all,

I have a quandry. I currently own 07/08 K2 Public Enemys. Very good park shis and happy cruising on piste aswell. However, I find them a bit heavy and cumbersome in the soft pow and when I need some responsiveness so I have decided to buy some of the K2 Silencers with a thinner waist etc.

Now, I usually ski 169cm's - Im 6'1 and abour 15 1/2 stone. Is there any benefit in me getting 159cm's so that I can get quicker turns in??? And if so are there any disadvantages on the shorter ski?

Thanks again guys and gals

Much luv
