I'm not 95% of people, I'm me....................and I stand by my statement, having extensively explored the area. You appear to know best though! There are obviously many places to stay within PDS which can offer you great access to specific zones within the designated area. If you prefer the Swiss side of Alvoriaz then stay in Switzerland, but to explore the whole area Morzine is your best base in my humble opinion.

I found Morzine is the best base if you want to reach all parts of PDS. You can get anywhere in under a couple of hours, but make sure you have plotted your way back.

Visited the Morzine/Les Gets area in March and covered the entire area from Point de Nyon to Montchery. Didn't cross over to the Avoriaz side as there was more than enough variety on our side. The blacks tended to mogul up as the day went on, but if that's your thing fine. My 'thing' is fast reds....and there are plenty of them. Mellezes, L'Aigle, Marmottes, Tulipe, Arbis, Sautenailles....etc

In Morzine last week it was like a bloody fashion show!!
If you can look good and feel comfortable for £50, why pay £500? They would say "Because I can", to which I would respond "Spend it on lessons my friends, and improve your technique" I'm sure half of them leave the price tag on. :) |

You are right everyone is different, but your summing up is exactly how our group operates. If a couple get tired they drift off and we all reconvene in the bar after the last run. |

We drove up from Reus (Barcelona) and only encountered dodgy conditions for the last few miles, but still made it up to Soldeu on the previous sunday night. Going home we tip-toed to Encamp but it was fine after that. The scenery was excellent, and we stopped in a square in Reus town watching the 'Confetti Carnival' in a warm 18 degrees!

It is next to Fat Albert's. Picadilly Bar is a bit further on, the way the car is facing.
