Don't you just love the blank look that you get back that shows that they really just don't understand? I think OldAndy hit the nail on the head, something about the combination of the space, movement and freedom that snowboarding brings, it is a truly amazing experience. |

Has anyone used compression sportswear like skins? I bought a pair of skins long pants before our last trip and I do think that they made a difference to how long it took for my legs to fatigue.

It is best to avoid cotton as it will not wick moisture away from your body. This can result in ending up cold as your sweat will be trapped against your body. Polyprop or wool clothing is best for base layer clothing and fleece is great for mid layers.

For my money, the gopro is by far the best. It is more versatile than any of the other cameras out there. I would highly recommend the chest mount as well as the helmet mount as it provides a slightly different view. If you also get the bicycle mount you can mount it on a ski pole. For me it is a no brainer as it also mounts to the front of my surfboard. My advice is to check out some of the videos online of the different cameras, youtube is a great starting point to see what best suits yoou.

Also worth checking out Rusutsu for a change of scene, 40 mins from Niseko, amazing riding through the trees and quieter too.

I have seen those videos before, they are very cool, it will be my riding that will stop me getting really first rate footage. You said that you have a pole like in the first video, what sort of pole do you have? I have a hiking pole that I am planning to use but the size of the pole is too small for the mount. I was considering getting a 1.5m long 3/4 inch carbon fibre tube as that would work perfectly and would be lighter than the hiking pole, only issue is it won't be collapsible.
