Hey Everybody,
Many thanks for your responses. I have taken all your good advise and now go to 220cm off snow in L2A on Saturday morning rather than mountain biking in Isola. How excited am I once again :D :D Holiday has ended up costing twice what it was meant to but I bet it will be 100 times better (glad the wife doesn't use this site)! Only 4 more sleeps and I might actually sleep now and dream of lots and lots of lovely snow. Thanks again |

Hey Nelly,
Skied Isola for a week a couple of years ago and it only has 43 runs when fully open (small and very quiet resort but enjoyable with lots of snow). Current snow levels say 60/30 with approx 70% open but looking at webcams over last few days you can see some of the runs disintergrating.Bright blue skys and sunshine forecast for next seven days last snowfall 5cm on 05/01 and not a great deal prior to that  Just not sure what to do really. Last trip was Jan 2010 next will probably be Jan 2014! |

Hi,
Im booked to go to Isola 2000 in Southern French Alps on Saturday. Problem is not much snow with non forecast over next 7 days. I can change my booking tomorrow and go to Les Deux Alpes on Saturday for an extra £150. However as I'm never been before and have done no research I know nothing about this area. One good thing looks like there is plenty of snow. Any comments on the resort and skiing are much appreciated as I need to decide tommorrow. What do you reckon Isola (and potentially little snow)or Les Deux Alpes (and less to spend)? Thanks |

Is this month in danger of being ruined by too much snow?

Yeh right. Too much snow is it.
You should try going to the Southern French Alps... the rate of snow down there I'm seriously considering swapping my ski hire for mountain bike hire!! Seriously those of you who tok part in the snow dance a couple of weeks ago please try again this time localised to Isola 2000. Far too much sunshine and not neraly enough clouds   |

Hi,
Cheapest I've enjoyed was a week in ISOLA 2000 in January of this year. Easyjet Flight LPL to Nice £64, Transfers from Nice airport to resort and back £2, Ski Hire and lift pass approx £200 for both, Appt for 3 £180 for the week. Skiing in ISOLA fab for a few days, a bit repetitive if there for the full week as I was but hey it was cheap, the snow was ace, the slopes fairly quite and accomodation basic but clean. No real apres ski of any nature but the skiing was good. Cheers Andrew |

Hi Guys,
Myself and a couple of mates are toying with the idea of taking the campervan down to France for some skiing in Jan 11. Haven't even got as far as what resort as yet and I wondered if anyone here had done something similar before and could suggest where and why? Any comments/suggestions(other than don't do it)please? |

Hi Guys,
In January of this year I had a week skiing in Isola 2000 (The skiing was great with good snow however more of a weekend resort rather a week due to limited number of slopes). Anyway one of the reasons i went there was we were trying to keep costs down and the transfer from Nice airport to resort was 1 Euro each way. I am now considering a holiday for Jan 2011 and may go back to Isola as cost again is a real issue however before i seriously start looking into things I thought I'd check to see if anyone knows of different resorts that have a similar subsidy policy for transfer from airport. Any comments would be appreiated. Thanks |
