GetJim,
I'm quite sure it's much too hard for me, should I ever happen to be anywhere near it. I've seen photos of it and looks like

Next ski holiday I'm going to find myself a nice gentle black with some baby moguls on it - nothing at all like that Hari Kiri - I'm too young to die

Ally

I still wouldn't ski it. I go skiing for the exhilaration not to terrify myself.

Glad you enjoyed it, I miss the satisfaction of breaking a barrier, it was black and White when a red was a challenge, then a black, then an itinerary etc. Now it's less tangible but still huge fun. I ran the the black from Furgg to Furi in Zermatt this morning about 9.30am as Italy was shut, and overtook everyone on it, a mix of improvement, perfect piste and abandon. Did it again 90 minutes later to a much lesser effect. I get frustrated when tired, guess I have to work on my fitness and leg strength now. Not as much fun as setting a target of your first red or black, but a target nonetheless.

Congrats, the big M is great, I'll be there in 10 days :)

Yep. It was an epic hike but I was in no condition to ski and it was the only way off the mountain. But, I had to get back to it the next day as there was no way my head was going to get the better of me. I've only been on skis a very short time and only once a year at that and so long as I progress year on year I'm happy. Absolutely loved Mayrhofen and next year's target is to have 2 ski holidays. Easy for me, not so easy for OH to get off work. May have to arrange a boys trip. :D

I think it was based on your earlier 'Thanks, but no thanks' post
I follow your program Trencher. As I only ski once a year, I always have a couple of morning lessons but usually on day 2 & 3. This lets me blow the cobwebs out and try to get the legs back in as best I can on day 1 before going for the lessons. I was still very rusty this year by the time lesson day came but after a couple of runs doing exercises to improve my turns it all came back to me. By the end of day 3 I'd advanced from last year's successes and felt ready for more challenging runs and that's all I want to achieve, just a small progression year on year.
My annual snow holiday includes doing some skiing, it's not all about the skiing.
