I gotta say, that looks awesome. I understand now :) As happy as I am about getting back into skiing, I am sad I'll probably never get to experience anything like that, not in the States anyway. Brad |

Really? Sounds fun or at least fun to watch. You never get anything like that in the States, unless some people are REALLY drunk and by that point they are being asked to leave. The only times I see something like that are Hobbits in Lord of the Rings Movies. I don't think I could have been expected to guess that you guys meant listening to cheesy music that you will be listening to in bars after skiing during the ski season. For the record, I wish Americans were more open to that kind of merriment, around here you probably just have people annoyed by the noise and telling them how "gay" they look :( Brad |

I know I am the newby around here and maybe I missed the point, but this is what gets me in the mood :D

As opposed to puting petrol in a "non-motor" car  It is funny the little differences we have. We usually say "gas stations" but they are occasionally referred to as "petrol" or "petroleum stations" over here also. We usually just say "car", occasionally "Automobile", but "Motor Car" is a term used a long time ago when you needed to mention the fact that it has a motor as opposed to being pulled by a horse or something. Ouch that would hurt. From what I hear, our base price for gas/petrol is very close, you guys pay a LOT more in taxes which is the main reason for the price difference. I am not saying that the benefit you get from the taxes aren't worth it, but that would hurt when filling up. |

In the last couple days gas has finally dropped back below $3/Gal around here  , from a high of about $4.45 about 6 months ago :( . It is so nice to be able to fill up a car for ~$30 instead of ~$50. The way the barrel has dropped I am hoping for as low as $2.50/Gal. That will save me $10+ every day I go skiing, It is about 110 miles away.
Just thought I'd share my Joy  Brad |

I wish you would have mentioned this earlier  , all this worrying about "carving" and how different it is going to be when I get back on the slopes. All I have to do is get the right socks
Speaking of socks, the only thing I still need are socks and a hat, I can get socks locally unless someone knows a great on-line place to get some and/or has a brand recommendation. Thanks, Brad |
