HI,
Bought my first set of skis last year, and have only had 1 weeks use. Since then, they been in the loft. Is it advised to get them serviced every year, or just every couple? Don`t want to be throwing money away for no reason!!! |

As the ski season is getting closer, i`m just putting the finishing touches to our trip to Peisey Vallandry in January. I`ve organised for our group of 10 to stop in a self catered chalet......all was going well, on on budget until i`ve priced up airport transfers! have they got more expensive this year, because i am being quoted around £110 per person, rtn. I only paid £35 lasy year, although that was to Alpe d`Huez, which i`m pretty sure is closer. Has anyone got any good transfer companies, or ideas how i can get these transfers cheaper? i`m not too fussed about what airport we fly into....Geneva, Grenoble or Chambery.
i`ve also looked at the ski train, but £249 from St Pancras!! This might just be me being tight, but i wasn`t expecting the prices to be this high!! One last question also......does anyone wknow what the transfer times are to vallandry? the person we booked the chalet off has stated about 1hr40 from Grenoble, but the transfer companies are saying 3hrs30. Just want to know what to expect. Sorry for the rant. |

Unfortunatly, contacts are a no no for me. i`ve had a cornia graft, so the only lense i could wear would be a hard gas perm. one. I`ve tried this in the past, and it`s just not worth the hassle!
I`ve also found a frame that would work with my prescription. I`m quite liking the idea of the Adidas ones though. Thanks for all the help again. |

Thanks a lot. I think i`ll be going for the clip in inserts! My eyes are that bad ( -5.50 and -5.00) that i can even see the next turn without my proper prescription. I thought about the goggles, but would need to wear them all the time, so that really rules them out for me. Just out of interest, anyone who uses the clip-in inserts, do you ever have any trouble with fogging up? |

Fantastic! Thanks for all the help guys. The Evil Eye Exploreres were the ones i liked on the website too. Looks like i`ve sorted out my issue of the day!

I`ve just emailed RX Sport, and they sdaid exactly what you said. Very good )! I might be acting stupid, but i can`t imagine an insert fitting on the inside of a pair of glasses! Are they not obstructive at all, and won`t it just look like you`re wearing 2 pairs of glasses? Sorry, probably a daft question, suppose i really need to go and see them for myself.... |

Thanks for the quick replies guys. i`ll see what Adidas can do. I`m not fussed about the cost really, as they`ll be used twice a year, and are pretty important )
I thought i`d be struggling with the wrap around ones to be fair, i`ve been to my opticians, and Oakley don`t even do a lense strong enough for me! Maybe new eyes altogether is the way to go..... |

Does anyone know of a good brand/shop who can do prescription sunglasses for skiing? I have a strong prescription, and my optician tells me Oakley don`t do a lense to suit my prescription. In the past i have just used my normal sunnies for skiing, but these are really not suitable. I need to get a decent pair or wrap arounds if possible. Any help appriciated....
