Women's downhill from Bansko is just starting (Chemmy Alcott starts 43rd).

I havnt stopped chuckling for a good 10 minutes now!

We are driving to Alp d'Huez in March and have worked out the cost to be the following:

Miles - 1800
MPG - 40 (diesel Renault Laguna)
Total gallons - 45
Gallons to Litres - 4.55
Total Litres - 204.75
PRICE OF FUEL - 0.989
Total cost of fuel - £202.50
SNOW CHAINS - £30.00 (second hand off ebay)
FERRY COST - £42.02 (£10 each to Dunkirk)
Tolls - £120.00

Total Cost of Trip - £394.52
Number of people - 4
Price each - £98.63

This doesnt include insurance for other people to drive the car so will have to take this into account.

The other option was to go on the bus provided for the holiday which would have taken 28ish hours.

I didn't think it was bigotted at all. It was a funny generalisation of a group of people. It was one persons opinion of something, and other people are entitled ot their opinion. Nothing remotely 'nasty' was said, just a statement of a view held by many people.

A lot of the things on this forum can be taken out of context but I believe that at no time, in none of the topics are people being deliberately spiteful, mean, nasty of hateful. Just take things with a pinch of salt and don't get so easily offended.

I am also a student like Ross, and am in Sheffield. I started skiing when I was 13 and am now 22. I ski 3 hours on a monday night at the ski village doing race practice and then every other weekend at different places and try to do at least 2 weeks a year on snow.

Although my post count is relatively modest, I also spend a lot of time just trying to keep up with what is happening on the other posts.

I had a 'proper' job last year for my placement year, but still found plenty of time to keep tabs on the forum.
