As an alternative ski carrier http://www.skiweb.uk.com/featured/skiweb-ski-carrier-christmas-red.html is something I've had for a while now and swear by. Nicely designed, with amazingly solid velcro fastening which folds up and is easilly stuffed in an inside pocket.

In terms of Scotch, minatures can be hell to get hold of. I had 1/3 bottles of different Single Malts as table names for my and Mrs H's wedding a few years ago...got them from http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/. However, be careful, there are some expensive bottles of booze out there!

Just to make sure I don't get told off by Admin, I have no affiliation to either website apart from I have a ski web and I drink a lot of hooch :)

Hi Jenkins....welcome to the forum!

I think we need to know a bit more info......do you actually mean where to ski at this time of year with beginners (if so Tony is pretty much spot on!) but if you're asking which resorts are better set up for beginners/have good beginner terrain then that's a different question!

I learnt many moons ago in Chamonix but to be honest there are probably better areas to take an absolute newbie. Have not skied in Switzerland so close to Zurich is not my strong point.....I would tend to suggest Les Arcs in France or maybe Courmayer in Italy as contenders.

Lilywhite's advice is good. You will want to ensure you have good quality goggles that fit your face well, especially beneath your nose.

Beneath your nose???

I think that's a SCUBA mask not Ski Goggles!!

Ranchero is right that a car and a trip to Chamonix might be a good call.

I was there 2 weeks ago (review to come, promise!) and there was some fantastic snow on the Vallee Blanche and also on the L'Argentiere glacier. Obviously both places you want to take a guide but some high altitude ski touring would definitely be my choice for late season.

Of course if that's not your thing there should still be snow higher up in Grand Montets or Le Tour which are both great areas.

Now, how does that work.....if I fart in the office can I be sacked?
