Just kidding Dave Mac :D
In my case.. I don't spend enough time here  Must correct that. Ian, you must be beside yourself after Dave Mac's comment indicating it was one of your posts that gave him the answer. I was thinking Canadian Music Awards rather than the accounting designation... I was looking at the lists of GB World Cup racers with a birth date of 1982 --- without any luck. Another day of searching and head scratching ahead !! Mike -) |

Congratulations Dave !!!
But Ian, I'm with you ... not feeling terribly bright at the moment. Also note what Pavel pointed out ..... someone who spends way too much time here ( my way of phrasing his statement )will get this one in seconds.  Mike -) |

Now if the number was: "LR006849" I would expect all GR skiers would get it really quickly !
Since Land Rover is the official vehicle of the GB ski team and this number is the part number of the ski carrier ... then why wouldn't all GB skiers get it ??  Ahhh when the mind wanders (aka : being flexible ) any answer is possible in a "Pavel Quiz" ! OK .. back to some serious thought ... # 2 has me baffled --- so far ! |

Opps here it is Sept 3rd already and I'm just getting into quizz mode !!!
Glad to hear your basement is getting back to normal Pavel. That was a terrible way to spend an unusually hot summer !! Now to deal with sleepless nights due to a "Pavel Quiz" !! |

This is going to be fun :P
It will be the return of the sleepless night syndrome! :( But we will learn, and then learn some more  :D However, Pavel's comment: "I also promise not to "comment" of Mikes unique answering technique." has me a bit puzzled as it has served me well and is my best means of answering "universally" Mike  |

This is a tough one Pavel. You do not want to offend friend nor client; but how to stop them? Possibly inform them a panel of your closest ski buddies will have to hold a "mock court" (as they do so well!) or qualifying meeting. (If this friend or client is an attractive lady possibly one of your friends should step aside and have your wife fill in for him on this qualifying committee. He will understand!) And advise this friend/client, sadly, the committee meets once a year in November ... ahh, c'est la vie. Will this help at all ??

Ski lift dangers or how to survival ski lifts around the world.

Just to add a couple of my own observations that show potential dangers at the chair lift. First, there are the times we see the father carry his two year old child to the loading line. If the child is too small or too inexperienced to get to the line under their own steam ....maybe they shouldn't be there in the first place?? It is moving machinery after all. And the second observation is when the kids in the line really don't seem to want to be there. Their inattention speaks to this. Their minds are off in other places and the lift attendant has to coax them to the line. Again there is heavy machinery in motion and lack of attention to their surroundings is as much a danger to them as it is an annoyance to others who want to get up the hill. Ahhhh there is little better than posting to a ski site forum with near 30°C outside!

My first and only powder day was this past winter at Sunday River. Likely "small" powder in comparison to what most of you are used to. SR had 20+ cms of dry, dry powder over night. Beautiful !!! I had the good fortune to ski the day before with Pavel (and we thought it a pity Dave Mac was not with us.) We thought of you Dave ... so in spirit you too have skied with Pavel. Pavel has sent me a picture of himself "working" the powder .... the smile on his face brought back that great day to me.
Of your original points Pavel, I try to always live to this one : Come early, never stop and leave late!! Mike |
