On the subject of Livigno, as my annual trip approaches I have been keeping an eye on webcams and snow depths, well to be honest I've probably been looking since June, but that aside I have been watching as high snow depths have reached 170-190cm and low levels to 50+cm, which of course is great. However, the last few days on this site has reported high levels at 100cm, the Livigno site has also gone from 170cm down to 130cm overnight? who nicked the snow?

Sounds a bit odd though, IW the webcam you mentioned shows loads?

Can anyone explain this reduction??

According to my Livigno 2010 pocket fold out map thing, pista illuminata or lit up slope at lift 23 on Thursday and lift 17 (San Rocco) on Tuesday. Both from 8.30-10.30pm with a special ticket.

The guy who organises our trip also recommends Sport Azzure, I'm sure a number of our group have used them for new boots and like IW have had very good service. We always hire our skis and get them from the shop at the ski school lift number 20 but a bit further towards the village than San Rocco, there are many ski hire places around though.

San Rocco is prob the most gentle of nursery slopes in the whole resort, but has pretty much direct access to the Carosello. The frequent free buses give access throughout. Enjoy its a great place.
