Maybe a bit late with this post........been busy skiing the powder
Borovets has been getting consistent snow fall, all runs are open except Markudjik 3.

Who knows Jim?.
Last night we had a storm come through from the South/West. Heaps of thunder and lightning which washed alot of the snow off the lower runs
Storms like that at this time of the yr are scarce
Not the season just been but the previous, when the whole of Europe was affected by unusually warm weather, Borovets faired well and there was skiing up top over x-mas & New year.
But like you said, I don't have a crystal ball and who knows what the weather will bring.
The temperature guage is up and down like a yoyo

Hi Del40boy,
I'm in Boro, been living here for the past 3.5yrs.
The snowfall we had last week (Approx 30cm) is holding well on the upper slopes. Lightly snowing as I type (wednesday morning). Temps are set to increase over the next few days but dropping again next week with good snow fall predicted. But hay, thats the long term forecast, anything can happen!!!.
Overall, not looking to bad.

The north island has 2 great ski resorts.
Whakapapa approx.4hrs from Auckland
Turoa approx. 4hrs from Wellington
Both resorts are on the same mountain (Mt Ruapehu). One on the northern side and the other on the southern side. Both recieve similar amounts of snow.
Both resorts have fantastic skiing.
Accommodation for Turoa can be found at the bottom of the mount in Ohakune. Drive to the ski fields is approx. 40mins.
Accommodation for Whakapapa can be found on the ski slopes. Mostly ski club huts, but they welcome non members.

Hi Terence,
I havent stayed in the Rila hotel as I live here, so have no need but I have heard from people that have stayed there last year and the year before that the hotel is good.Great location overlooking the chairlift and the ski runs of Martinovi Baraki. Ski in/out, pool and fitness facilities etc.For a bit of pampering, have a massage at the Samokov hotel for aprox.30 leva.Nice bar area with outdoor tables when on a nice day you can sit outside and watch everyone falling over
There is a nice complex right next door called the Royal Plaza where there are self catering apartments for rent.
You can send us a private message if you would like assistance in booking some accommodation.
