Very giddy - looking forward to Cortina in 11 days. We're flying into Innsbruck and driving down. In the good old days pre Covid it was a straight drive with (I seem to recall) no border checks, but I'm hearing now there can be queues up to 2 hours at the Brenner pass? Anyone done this route recently? What's the current situation?

What Tim said. The singer in the sports bar is brilliant and has about 1000 songs in his head! There's tonnes of trell ined runs and Ahorn does have some of the longest and quickest runs around. My top tip - there's a few small kebab and pizza places, especially one opposite the bottom the Penke lift which is good fast food and dirt cheap. Be aware all the bars are still (unless changed this year) smoking bars, but beer is pretty much same price as UK so you don't get ripped off.

Snapzzz - that's brilliant, thanks. Hope it's the same for Italy :-)
Now just need to find a decent HB hotel (or cheap chalet for 6) ;-) |

It's been 15 years since I last went to Sauze Queue, and I do recall an ancient and fairly poor lift system. I've heard conflicting reports recently regarding getting to and from Sestriere - one person says there's still just a 1 man chair, another says check the piste map. I've checked an online piste map and think I can see a route using a 4 chair up to Triplex, down to malafosse, up to Basset, down to a drag and then back up to Fraiteve and there you are.
OR - is there a quicker way. There's 40 of us going, so lots of planning is deffo the key! Thanks in advance |
