Hirsty,
Tryn this; 1. Put om boots white thin socks or thinner socks. 2. Do not buckle first unit. That one near toe. If no pain after 30 minutes,,,,you may have issue with linner foam that has expanded. This zone ( great illustration) is the very easiest to fix. Two options are open to you; Go to reputable ski shop that has heat lamp system to heat boot shell in that area and widden with special tool. You can make lateral 10-15 cm cut into liner ( at area shown) and with long thin nose plyers take out some foam. Do this slowly with very little foam taken out! Do not worry this minor "surgery" If I was you I would do second option since less costly and fun to do! |

Gavin,
Thank you for the reply. I will soon be doing a great deal of snowshoeing once I am let out of my cage! There is something so rewarding to walk into a forest and experience the silence. We do not do enough of this! Skiing is not just a sport. It is a life style which offers many rewaeds |

Pavel.
To follow Jan's 6th. skiing mistake, this one is for sure in the top 10 ! Thinking too much technique. So many skiers read books and view all sorts of ski videos, then try to "think ski"! It is like doing painting by numbers. You all know those "paintings" you buy that have numbers for each color. I had a little boy as a neighbor who was always "hyperactive" his mother could never get him to do the house chores. Never read about "how to ski", he just did it! I wonder where he is now that little boy,,,,probably retired somewhere reading all about how to ski! |
