3 Valleys Vs Portes du Soleil
Started by User in France, 12 Replies
Let's get this straight both areas are awesome. Both say they have 650kms of runs. Both claim to be the biggest linked ski areas...blah blah blah...

The real difference is in the price. In Morzine, Avoriaz et al you are looking at 5euros a pint. In the likes of Meribel, Coucheval etc you are looking upwards of 7euros (more often 10euros) a pint.

This price difference reflects on all things from accommodation to lift pass and not just the beer...

Go to both ski areas but I feel in the Portes du Soleil you'll find a wider selection of different and interesting runs (more tree line skiing), arguably more picturesque scenery, cute little mountain villages (ok not Avoriaz)and VALUE FOR MONEY!

My vote goes to the Portes du Soleil!!
Hey Nick - did you get any responses? We have room on 18th Feb or 25th Feb...?

Take a look and see if you fancy it.

It gives me something to look forward too. Investigating ski passes, deciding on what skis to go for and buying a new helmet :!:

What chalet is that!? I like the sound of it!

VT is a great base for 3Vs, plenty of tree lined slopes in Courchevel easily assessable from VT.

Queues? In the Portes du Soleil?.....must have been half term...in which case there are lines all over Europe.

Get on the snow outside school holidays if you can!

Got a few spaces left, if you fancy a week in the snow / sunshine - get in touch!

PS:- It is the concerts on the pistes week AND the lift pass is cheaper by about 10 euros!!
...I've got space in March if that is any good to you..?

Exactly as it says on the tin, got a couple of places to fill last minute to our chalet in Morzine, French Alps.

The trip officially runs 18 - 26 Dec for 8 nights, but we are pretty flexi on that.

Most people are coming on their own, guys and gals, the average age on the trip is about 32yrs - there are older and younger, just no kids!

If you can make it that would be awesome.
