Emailing Channel4 might be the obvious course of action but I won't out of principle. They have failed to reply on the two previous occasions I emailed them - once to ask who the ginger man was who swung through trees and got bitten by snakes and once to find out if their old theme tune for the Tour de France was available anywhere.
They had two chances - they won't get a third. |

The following message was posted on ditigitalspy.com apparently quoting Nick Fellows who presented Channel 4's World Cup Skiing programme.
"Sadly, due to the budget cut backs on off-peak programmes, Channel 4 sports department were given no choice but to cut World Cup Skiing / Snowboard / and Nordic from its 2008/2009 schedules. Presenter and Hothouse Managing Director, Nick Fellows, says “It’s as real shame Channel 4 has to cut skiing after six successful years strong ratings and a loyal following. Thank you to all those who have supported us and I look forward and hope we are back on air soon”. For further information or direct communication, please contact dpoulton@channel4.co.uk" Does anyone know how accurate this is? I fear it might be true as the programme has normally started by this stage and Channel 4 have not updated their website. And any word on what to expect from Ski Sunday this season? I really liked last season's show but I know not everyone liked it - particularly the lack of action. |

Out of interest which resorts still have a lot of drag lifts?
I remember there were quite a few in Saalbach when I went with the school in the early 90's but presumed most would be replaced by now. Certainly haven't seen many recently - La Plagne have those flat escalators instead of drag lifts on the beginner slopes. |

Lol - I nearly said that but thought better of it.

Lucky you! On re-reading I should have specified hiring from the Swiss side of Geneva. Apparently it's Swiss law that car hire comes with winter equipment between October and April.

Book with Holiday Autos as they are normally cheapest especially with this link - www.holidayautos.co.uk/cgi-bin/liveweb.sh/QSearch.w?ctryref=GBR&lang=EN&aff=xOneAccount
For info if you ever fly to Geneva cars should come with at least snow tyres and often chains as well. |

Yeah - sounds like I might have to consider it. Apart from free-parking I did like the idea of abusing a hire by leaving it to the elements but sounds like it won't be that easy.
I believe it is 55Euros for the week - i'll see what the weather is like on the day. Guess I'd rather there is fresh snow on the slopes than an easy treck to the apartment. Thanks for the info/adivce. |

Thanks Bandit - I'll keep an eye out on the way up and return at night to push a car out of its space if necessary.
