There are so many great runs in 3 V, much depends on conditions.
On the Courchevel side, Jockeys down to Le Praz, long black through the trees. Or the Gd Couloir black run if you're feeling brave. Meribel valley, I'll second, Combe Vallon and Campagnol red runs off the top of Mont Du Vallon. Val Thorens, Combe de Caron black is great, as are the runs on the 4th valley including a nice off piste route. Les Menuires, all the runs off Point de la Masse are good, usually quiet over there with plenty to go at, again some lovely off piste |

We're taking a group of 30 to Les Arcs in January, we booked the lift passes back in the summer and got a two for one deal.

I don't think it makes too much difference if you buy at home or abroad, the key thing is the ability of the boot fitter.
Another point is they can only sell you the boots the shop stocks. So choose a shop which has boots from a large number of manufacturers and follow the advice given on which shell shape suits your feet. I always say that of the cost of a new pair of boots, 50% of it pays for the fitting. Make sure you get your money's worth. Pre-book an appointment, set aside 1-2 hours, if done properly that's how long it takes. I've got 'difficult' feet. I once got a new pair of boots from S&R, the technician took one look at my feet, made that sucking noise motor mechanics make before giving you a quote, and said 'you're going to have problems with them'. |

I agree with Ian, Hip Flask.
One day last season we stopped for morning 'coffee' and between 5 of us produced 7 hip flasks. You just know when it's going to be one of those great days don't you! |

I wish they would introduce singles lanes in more European resorts, allowing you to fill up spaces on the lift, they work well in the states.
I've seen a few about, hopefully they'll spread. |

A big thumbs up for a resturant called La Ferme in Reberty. Give it a go for lunch on the first day and you might find yourself going back several times.
