Holidays and flights got far too cheap in the mid 90's and then into the Noughties.

I've just booked flights to Geneva for a family of 4 and I think £80 each (incl baggage) is incredibly good value.

How can holidays and flights be too cheap

HOWEVER.....falling down....3 or 4 WEEKS on the slopes is just not fair :(

Iceman, I do not drink alcohol, I have an old car that I hardly use (the car uses 25mpg, I can not afford too) and I do two jobs, well not all the time, but when I can

But I get a summer holiday too!!! My parents live in Portugal and although they live 30 minutes from the beach they have a fab natural pool that is great for skinny dipping in on hot summer days.

The core of Tuff's survey seems to be about global warming and any perception on impact on changing skiing patterns.

Are we not already there?

Now taking the thread completely off topic -

Isn't the greatest threat to ski holiday prices of fuel.

Five years ago I could jump on an aircraft for £10 and go away for a weekend. Now I work all year and look for last minute deals to afford my three or four weeks on the slopes.

The way things are going holidays will only be available to the very well off again. The Victorians could at least afford to go to Blackpool on a train, but the prices of train fairs these days will probably mean that will not be possible.

Back on topic

Do 12 year olds get to decide where they go on holiday? I use to get asked but my opinion never counted

Personally I do not have an issue with sharing especially if it is a good looking, athletic guy, or two or three.

There are hotels that have single rooms however if you go early season or late season you might have operators willing to allocate double rooms to singles.

Remember Easter is 31 March next year
Spring skiing can be a lottery in my view, one day the snow is super, soft from mid morning until the lift closes. The next by 1 pm it is like a water park, then there are the days when it stays hard.

I hate the lower bits that have the snow scraped away and your ice skiing

The best skiing in my view in spring is from 10am when the sun has got to the snow and softened it up until 13.00 or so when the snow starts breaking up a turning to water

Which if you think about it, the cheaper lift passes are not really that good value

I disagree

No harm in initially asking for opinions. Once you have an idea of what is popular you can then narrow things down.

I would have like Afghanistan as an option :)

Anyone late for anything today, due to the clock movement?

I was late for work?

If my plans work out I will be in a ski resort from January until May so will not be interested, but I have been meaning to do this for 5 years and I have got no where. Sso I filled out the survey, read most but not all the thread and thought I will add a pennies worth or two (should that be penny's worth?).

Have you thought about whether you will allow singles and how you are going to deal with them, ie supplements?

I am 25 but not really bothered about age of group as long as we are not surrounded by under 5 year olds.

Week before Christmas would be good, before the resort opens to tour operators, really cheap, some resorts will give out free lift passes at this time especially for groups'

Livigno has several hotels that own self catering accommodation, not sure if it as anything of usefulness.

Lunch over, back to work, hopefully it be quiet and I can watch F1
Lol things like gloves and hats get replaced every time I come back off a trip as I loose them

I am tempted to start hiring but I bought a expensive roller bag last year and had the skis serviced.

I hate buying skis end of season. The ones I bought now I bought them in June, they were sat in the garage until end of January.

Do you just throw away your old skis?
