Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I wasn't talking about the Lech ~ St Anton area, I've never been there. When I said whatever resort I actuallyment in Europe or perhaps even the world!
I was just responding to a comment about opperators and their coach trips, which are money for nothing and equate to being mugged, in my view. BTW I would love to go to St Anton and Lech. |

Whatever resort you're in, if your operator arranges a trip to a nearby resort, find out what it would cost to do it yourself by taxi. When I've looked into it I've found it half the price and you can go what day you want, what time you want and return when you want~ be it three 'o'clock or nine 'o'clock. T These trips and other extras tend to be a rip off ~ especially if it's something you can do yourself independantly ~ unless you like being treated like a school kid. Just needed to get that off my chest. |

Hi Claire
I've no idea how long it would take by road but I did the helicoper trip a few years ago and yes, it is just a matter of minutes, and well worth it. It was incredibley warm in ADH the year I went and I found I wasn't prepared for how high and cold L2A was. Silly me! A good lesson though ~ always be prepared. Easy skiing up the top of L2A. I didn't see the town or the lower part of the mountain. The helicopter dropped us half way up if I remember rightly. Have a great time! C |
