top three resorts

1. 3V - La Tania
2. Tignes (les Brevieres)
3. La Plagne (Montalbert)

Have always tended to go for smaller less commercial places with good easy lift access to larger ski areas but ski back home able, tend to find them cheaper and more friendly. Also stayed on occasion in bigger towns such a Cervinia and Selva and found them a little soulless, always had good skiing everywhere so that's the main thing Could anybody suggest other similar places?

but there has been two resorts on my radar
kitzbuhel and selva val gardena

Selva is great, some q's to get up the gondola in the morning, or a very longish steep hill to the chair, the Rhonda circuit is a great days skiing but can get tracked out, having stated in Selva I would go for a smaller resort in the area such as Arraba or if you have family Corvara seemed more family/child/beginner friendly.
Playlist for the slopes

I fail to see how listening to music during skiing should be dangerous! My eyes still work so I can see where I am going therefore if I was going to ski into the back of somebody I don't think the ability to hear would stop me, if somebody is coming from behind me it is their responsibility to manage their route around me not the other way round, also are you saying that deaf people shouldn't ski? Nice!!!
In my experience the greatest danger on the slopes are those people who attempt to ski in areas or on slopes above their ability and end up skiing erratically in front of those coming after.

Just thinking about getting my ipod playlist together for upcoming trip, there has been a flurry of albums out lately for driving/running ect but none I have seen for the slopes. Any suggestions for great ski tracks?

I always use my CaxtonFX card (for all travel of which i do alot), it preloaded before you leave at the best rates you will find around,no charges to withdraw or pay, it is connected to your normal bank account so can be re-loaded any time either online, by text or by phone. So no carrying large amounts of cash. Oh and if you loose it they will replace worlwide in 24h.
Hi Andy, do you have any places left? 38 year old male, wife can not get holidays this year so looking to get a reasonably priced week on the slopes.

I would recommend Cervinia due to its altitude, try and get a hotel up the hill (we stayed at the Astoria - sounds better than it is but fine) as its quite a walk up to the lifts in the morning. Fairly big area and the option to ski in Zermatt for the day. Only issue is if the wind blows it really blows
Changes to French driving laws.

One thing to watch, the French police still often use the old colour changing sticks for breath testing, a couple of years ago I came across a road block in a rural location with them testing all drivers exiting the Autoroute, they were using an already positive tube for non nationals and presumably pocketing on the spot fines, when I as someone that had previously been warned about this practice demanded to see the tube before I gave the test they got a bit shirty but ultimately got a new one out which of course I passed.
