Evening.
Just about to book lessons for my other half in Peisey Vallandry for january, and wandered if anyone has any experience or knowledge of the above mentioned ski schools? She had lessons last year with ESF, and found was impressed with them, so we were automatically going to book with them again. However, i have heard New Generation are superb, and can work wonders with new skiers. My other half wants to be able to ski with everyone else for the afternoon of this year, as she is the only one who has lessons. So, is it worth paying the extra money for New Generation? ( 135 Euros more) All opinions appriciated. |

Alpe d`Huez.......great place!
From my experiences of booking chalet accomadation over the years, you`ll need to pay a bit more than the £150 pp. If i remember rightly, we paid £220 pp for a ski in/out chalet in Alpe d`huez last year, situated at l`Altiport. Having said this, we had 10 people, so needed a larger chalet, and had a jacuzzi and sauna. Also, i suupose you might be able to get a better deal with you leaving it late. Good luck in the hunt anyway......i know how frustrating it can be! |

Went January last year, and stopped in the chalets at the altiport. Great area, and great skiing. You`ll never be short of runs either; loads of variety for all abilities.
Not too expensive either, compared to many Alpine resorts. You have to visit the resteraunt at the altiport also.....superb food! we went 3 times in a week. |

Thanks again everyone, so great advise.
It looks as though we will either be driving, or flying, anf hiring a car. I quite fanct the driving route myself. I`ve got no issues in driving long distances, and like the idea of getting to the resort during the day, and sorting out ski passes and hire for friends and maybe even get a few hours skiing in! Does anyone know the approx. cost of all the tolls? i`ve had a guess at about 50-70 Euros each way, but could be way out! |

Seriously considering driving all the way now too. has anyone ever done this, and would you do it again?

Thanks guys. I was looking at car hire also, but it doesn`t seem to make that much difference to the price. I`ll keep checking about, and see what suits us better.

 This servicing seems more complicated than i first thought! i was just going to take them to the shop i bought them for, and ask them to service them!! The bases arn`t oo bad really, just the odd light scratch, no reral damage as such.

Thanks guys! i`d better get them booked in though, as i`m sure being up in the loft for a year won`t do them any good!
