Looking for advice on Selva & Ortisei or Canezi
Came accross an offer on web to either 1. Selva & Ortisei or 2. Canezi Not sure which one to go for , we are intermediate skiers can ski most reds and the occasional black. Looking for somewhere with a reasonable amount of skiing for one week. Concerning Ortisei, is this a lower lying satellite town , if so is there skiing there or do you have to make your way up to Selva, if so is it lift linked or is it a bus job Thanks Folks |

Runs in passo v high so snow sure, downside to this is there are not tree lined and appear a bit stark. Visit the glacier (Presena) v cold up there. Pretty run to next town Ponte De Lego some of the run is flat so a bit of pole pushing invloved. Ponte nice town/shops, bring trainers in a backup so you can walk around town

In Google maps (or any online mapping via-michelin etc)is it possible to dispaly ski resorts wth a symbol meaning a ski resort, the idea being when you look at a paticular area in Italy for example, you see the resorts straight away, without having to know the ski resorts names. The country we are looking at is italy

U have three accom options, which are all approx 1to2km apart and on the same life pass. San Simone you can ski there but to reach Fopollo bus it San Simone 5-10 mins on bus to Foppolo, I assume bus is free with lift pass
Fopollo which is in the centre of things, looks like the sking is v near all accom there. Carona - u take a lift up from carona in the morning, this leaves u at the plateau, for sking. If I were u I'd base myself near to where the ski schools are, prob Foppolo but possibly also San Simone. The best thing about the place is its proximity to Bergamo. In my dealings with the hotels etc, I noticed that not many people speak English, so check that your ski school can coach in English as well as Italian. |
